Experience

What kinds of non-wedding and portrait photography do you offer?
While weddings and family portraits are the heart and soul of my business, I also enjoy switching things up with documenting special events and other fun things from time to time. I’ve captured boutique shop grand openings, ribbon cutting ceremonies and celebrations, family reunions, anniversary and retirement parties, special dinners, and more. I also enjoy photographing special spaces like homes, gardens, and product photography for small businesses.

Do you photograph headshots or do any corporate/commercial photography work?
In my own way, yes. I love to capture photographs of someone in their natural working environment in a very organically candid fashion rather than a posed studio-type setting. I love to tell the story of what it is you do in a documentary style, if that particular approach interests you. And regarding commercial work, I prefer to connect with business owners on a smaller scale, so I don’t photograph for any large corporate businesses or networks, but would be happy to refer you to some of my talented friends who do!

How would you describe your style?
I prefer to be quiet and unobtrusive when photographing, as not to disturb the moment, but I can also sense when some natural direction and posing guidance is needed. It’s important for my clients to feel comfortable and free to just relax and be themselves during our time together. And in terms of editing the images, it’s important to me to keep the look pretty true to life, while adding a bit of contrast, warmth, and a little touch of grit.

Booking

What’s your booking process like?
After receiving your inquiry, I'll reply with a few questions to get to know you a bit better and gain some insight on the type of photography you’re looking for. I’d then create a customized quote for you.

What would you typically charge for custom photography services?
It depends on what the project is, but I typically charge at a rate of $475 per hour, which includes an online gallery of digital files.

Do you have liability insurance?
Of course! I'd be happy to send over proof of coverage if requested.

The Shoot

Does anyone come with you when you photograph?
Sometimes I bring an assistant with me, depending on the logistics of the shoot.

What do you bring along with you?
I carry my gear bag and a couple light stands. I use Nikon gear and always bring backup equipment with me.

What if we have bad weather?
If our intention is to photograph outside, we will touch base about 4 hours prior to the session start time about either moving the session location indoors if we are able, or rescheduling to the next available date and time.

Post-Processing

Do you edit each photo yourself?
I do! I don’t outsource any of my work and do all of my post-processing.

Do you retouch them too?
I sure do, but the cost for this is not included in your initial investment. You’re welcome to purchase additional retouching services for any image(s) you’d like through your online gallery.

When will I have access to my online gallery?
You’ll receive a link to your gallery within about 4-6 weeks after your event.

How long is the gallery active?
Access to your gallery will remain open for 12 months after the delivery date.

What am I allowed to do with my images?
My business holds the copyright to your photos, but you are welcome to make prints and share them to social media as often as you’d like. You just can’t sell, edit, or alter them in any way.
